Non-denominational Six Year Comprehensive

Langholm Academy is a non-denominational, co-educational six year comprehensive secondary school with a roll of some 268 pupils in 2004.

The Academy has three associated primary schools, Langholm, Canonbie, andGlenzier. In addition a number of placing requests are made each session

Wide Curriculum

The Academy offers a wide curriculum and it has recently widened choice further through partnerships with Dumfries and Galloway College and the Barony College.

Providing Educational Facilities for Over 40 Years

The building was officially opened in 1962.   It consists of three floors with the Modern Languages department housed in a newer extension and a Portacabin located at the front of the school. The school was re-roofed in 2003.  A new Sports Complex and Fitness Suite has recently been built adjacent to the main school building.
